Crabs Drop First Game of Second Half

The Blue Crabs started the second half the same way as the first, dropping the first game to the Long Island Ducks.

Kenny Rayborn suffered the loss, going 6.1 innings allowing 2 runs, only one earned, on 5 hits while walking no one and striking out 2. The First run was unearned, as a Duck scored on a rare error by Patrick Osborn at 3rd. The Second run would come on a solo home run hit with 1 out in the 3rd. Newcomer Derrick Ellison would come in to finish the 7th, getting two outs on two pitches. Jimmy Serrano would then come in to start the 8th, getting one out while allowing 2 earned runs on 2 hits. Vinnie DeChristofaro would walk the only batter he faced who would score after he left the game. Paul Estrada would finish off the 8th allowing two hits and striking out two.

Our only run of the game would come in the 4th, when Jeremy Owens would lead off the inning with a double. He would then score on an RBI single hit by Octavio Martinez.
