Blue Crabs Pull off A Stunner

In the final game against the Long Island Ducks the Blue Crabs were able to pull off a win after dropping the first 3 games of the second half.

It wasn't until the 9th inning that the 3-3 tie achieved in the 3rd inning would be broken. In the second inning Jermy Acey would get on base with one out via a single. Two batters later Jermy would score on Octavio Martinez's single. In the 3rd the Blue Crabs would pick up two more runs getting back-to-back home runs from James Shanks and Jeremy Owens. The game would remain tied until the 9th inning when the Long Island Ducks would break down defensively. With two outs and extra innings looking certain as the Ducks ace closer Bill Simas was pitching, John Ramistella would get on base via a dropped pop up. Liu Rodriguez would use this to the Crabs advantage, as he would single advancing John to 3rd. Then through all improbability Simas threw a wild pitch and John came into to score the winning run.

Ryan Bicondoa pitched 7 innings for a no decision. He scattered 8 hits allowing the only 3 runs for the Ducks in the first and third innings. He walked 4 batters while also striking out 4. In the 5th Ryan had a pick off double play. After giving up a lead of single, Ryan walked the second batter-putting runners at 1st and 2nd. The lead runner would then be thrown out by play from Jeremy Owens to Chuck Jeroloman when the runner was trying to advance to third on another single given up by Ryan. Ryan however would redeem himself, getting both runners picked off on a single move. Ryan tagged the runner out moving form second to third and then threw to Jermy Acey at second who tagged out the runner going from first to second to end the inning. In the 8th Derrick Ellison came in to face on batter striking him out. Mike James would then pitch the rest of the 8th allowing a single and a walk between bookending outs. Matt Hensley then came in for an attempted save, giving up a lead off single before sitting the next 3 down in order, including a strike out.
