Blue Crabs Win in Commanding Fashion

After dropping last night’s game, the Blue Crabs came out swinging getting two multi-run home runs in the game.

Michael Tucker led off the 2nd inning with a triple, scoring on a sacrifice fly hit by Ken Harvey. The Blue Crabs would add to their one run lead in the 4th when Liu Rodriguez would lead off with a single. After two outs, Liu was at second coming in to score on a double hit by Ken Harvey. Ken would then score on home run hit by Jeremy Owens deep in left field. After getting out to a four run lead, the Crabs would add 3 more runs in the 8th. Octavio Martinez doubled to lead off the 4th, going on to score after moving to third on a sacrifice type hit by Richard Gannett. Octavio then scored on a single hit by Liu Rodriguez. Liu would then score on a hard hit homerun by Patrick Osborn deep to left field.

Mike O'Conner made his first start as a Blue Crab going 5 innings of scoreless ball. He scattered 5 hits while striking out 4. He was relieved in the 6th by Paul Estrada who gave up the only run on the night. Paul went 1.2 innings allowing 1 unearned run on 2 hits and a strike out. Matt Schweitzer then pitched the final out of the 7th, getting a strike out to end the inning. Mike James pitched the 8th scoreless allowing one walk while striking out one. Derrick Ellison got the final inning of the game, going hitless and scoreless with one strike out.
