After a dramatic come from behind win in extra innings last night, the Blue Crabs looked to win this one in regulation.
Keith Ramsey got the nod for only his 3rd start of this season, going seven innings but only allowing 2 earned runs on six hits. Keith walked one while striking out five; he also had 3 innings where he sat the batters down in order sitting down 14 of 15 batters in a row from the 1st to the 6th. Mike James would then come in to pitch the 8th, allowing one hit while striking out 1. Jimmy Serrano closed out the game in the ninth allowing two hits with one out before striking out a batter.
Despite again having to come from behind following York's early 1-0 lead the Blue Crabs hitters had no problem putting this one away early. Last night's hero Mike Just was given the night off, as Jermy Acey played second. Ken Harvey led off the second with a single, moving around the bases one by one until he would score by an errant play by the shortstop on a ball hit by Octavio Martinez. In the 3rd, the Blue Crabs would take their first lead of the game and would never let it go. After Patrick Osborn led off the inning with a single, James Shanks would get on base via an error by the second baseman; both would score on a three-run homer hit by team captain Jeremy Owens. John Ramistella would add to the lead with a solo shot to lead off the fourth, and Jeremy would hit another long ball, this time a solo shot, in the fifth. Liu Rodriguez would then be walked in the sixth and move to third on a double hit by Patrick Osborn. Liu would score on a single hit by James Shanks and Patrick would score on a single hit by Jeremy Owens. That would bring the score to it's final total of 8-2 a commanding win for the Crabs.
