Winning Style

The Blue Crabs posted their second win in as many nights while donning their usual Friday night reds. The Blue Crabs pitching staff combined for a shut out in the third game of this four game series.

Kenny Rayborn pitched 6 innings of scoreless ball scattering 5 hits while walking 3 and striking out 3. Matt Schweitzer pitched the 7th allowing only one hit while striking out 2 batters the first looking. Mike James pitched the 8th walking two while striking one out. Jimmy Serrano finished the game off in the 9th facing only three batters and striking out the last batter looking.

Offensively we were on fire. Getting out to an early one nothing lead in the second following a lead off double by Captain Jeremy Owens who would score on a single hit by catcher Octavio Martinez. We would keep that slim lead until the 5th when we would add two runs of insurance. John Ramistella led off the inning with a single and would move to second when Mike Just got on. John came home on an RBI double hit by Travis Garcia; Mike would score on a ground out by Patrick Osborn. Mike Just would again score after being walked in the 7th and stealing second, and again he would be brought in by Patrick Osborn this time however on a RBI single. In the 8th we had three runners get on base in order with Jermy Acey getting on in error but was pinch run for by Richard Giannotti, and Octavio Martinez singled and Chuck Jeroloman was walked. All three runners would score on a 3 RBI Triple hit by John Ramistella.

In other Blue Crabs News: With the win we extend our lead over Long Island to 5 games, 8 games over Camden and 10.5 games over Bridgeport. Also we announced that we released LHP Wayne Franklin.
